Job description: Texas Health Dallas is seeking a RN II in the Orthopedics Department.

The Orthopedic Unit (H4S) is a 36 bed unit. We care for patients that have standard joint replacements, revisions, complex reconstructions, and musculoskeletal oncology surgery; as well as any other general medicine diagnosis.

We have the capability for monitoring remote cardiac telemetry patients. We staff by acuity. Usually a typical day shift nurse to patient ratio is 1:5 and same for nights.

We work as a collaborative team (i.e. clinical nurse leader, patient care facilitator, Nurse Practitioners for our trauma, Ortho oncology, and general Ortho surgeons, Physicians, Care Transition Managers, and Physical and Occupational Therapy.

Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is an 898-bed, Magnet-designated hospital and recognized clinical program leader, having provided compassionate care to the residents of Dallas and surrounding communities since 1966.

7p-7a, night shift, with rotating weekends and holidays.

***Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred. (RNs hired within THR after December, 2016, require completion of BSN within 2 years of start date.)

***One (1) year experience as a clinical nurse required, or completion of an RN residency program, or acceptance into a THR residency program.

***Current RN licensure or compact licensure recognized by the Texas Board of Nursing is required upon hire.

***BCLS- Basic Cardiac Life Support is required upon hire.
***CPI-Crisis Prevention Intervention Training is required within 60 days of hire
***ACLS- Advanced Cardiac Life Support is preferred
***ONC Orthopedic Nurse Certified is preferred

A high degree of confidentiality, positive interpersonal skills, and ability to function in a fast paced environment.

Job reports to (title of the position): Manager, Manager/designee, and/or Director of the clinical service area.

The ideal candidate must have a high degree of confidentiality, and the ability to function in a fast-paced environment.

Basic computer skills, good verbal and written communication skills and service excellence skills are also essential attributes for this position.

Intra/interdisciplinary collaborator and coordinator for quality patient care

Nurses/candidates for the department are the primary care coordinator of interdisciplinary patient care activities and is responsible for the management of patients throughout their continuum of care at Texas Health Resources.

You will be responsible and accountable for high quality patient care through implementation of the nursing process including assessment of patient needs (physical, psychosocial, educational), design of a collaborative plan of care, implementation of the plan with appropriate delegation of tasks, coordination of team effort, and evaluation of patient progress towards outcomes.

Acts as a patient/family advocate and seeks opportunities to communicate and coordinate patient care activities
