Sustaining Mechanical Design Engineer
Wilmington, Ohio
As a Sustaining Mechanical Design Engineer, you will provide engineering support to our client’s existing product lines by working closely with their Quality and Production teams, as well as their supplier base. You will also conduct failure analyses and develop/implement product improvements.
To qualify, you should hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or a directly related scientific discipline. An MS is desired, as is P.E. certification. You must possess seven-plus years of related work experience, with five years of medical device experience being preferred. You’ll need expertise in Engineering CAD software such as SolidWorks; proficiency in FEA and analytical software is desired. Our client also seeks knowledge of lean, six sigma, kaizen, and continuous-improvement initiatives. Green Belt would be highly advantageous. You must be skilled in applicable manufacturing processes such as injection molding, extrusion, fabrication, sheet metal, casting, forging, CNC machining, laser cutting, water jet, etc. Familiarity with project management terms and concepts, along with an ability to communicate ideas and information clearly, effectively and frequently, both verbally and in writing, will make you a front-runner candidate.
